Nigeria: TB Joshua Fails to Show Up for Trial Over Building Collapse
The founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations , Temitope Joshua, was absent in court on Monday at the start of the trial over the collapse of a refurbished six-storey building inside his church premises in 2014. In July, Oyetade Komolafe, a coroner, indicted the church and the engineers in charge of the building of "criminal negligence" leading to loss of lives, and recommended that the church and its engineers be prosecuted for manslaughter.

Taxi operators under the aegis of Airport Car Hire Association of Nigeria have warned that terrorists may infiltrate the nation's airports as touts are allowed to mill everywhere around terminal facilities, especially at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja. The operators observed that the infiltration of these touts as well as the illegal car hire operators had been unchecked over the years but was becoming very dangerous now that the country is under terror threat and airports are their popular targets.

Boko Haram 'abducts more girls'
More teenage girls were abducted in the latest attack by Boko Haram militants who stormed a village in Nigeria's northeastern state of Borno, security sources and residents told Xinhua on Monday. An unspecified number of teenage girls were taken away early Sunday in Bam Village, located about 170km south of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, after razing buildings and killing at least seven persons, an unnamed security officer said.
